Here is something fun! What are small things that drive you crazy around the town we call Indianapolis? I will start...

I love the new Castleton Square Mall add on, BUT I HATE the intersection out in front of Stir Crazy and Borders! On A weekend it takes around 10 to 15 minutes just to get out of the parking lot because of this intersection! And lets not even talk about finding a parking spot now!

What about you?

I hate the potholes, the white trash, and the weather. I love the Castleton/Keystone at the Crossing area, the Pacers, some of the food, and downtown.

I hate the lack of a decent mass-transit system. I hate that I have to count to 3 (and sometimes 5) to drive through an intersection on a green light because of flying cross-traffic. I love the Mass Ave district. I love the small but excellent dining scene in Irvington.

i dislike the lack of good sushi and good non-mall shopping, the Indiana Pacers, country music radio stations, the weather, the concert venues other than the Music Mill and Radio Radio and especially the fact that Peyton Manning is the face of everything in this city! why can't Reggie Wayne get some respect!?

A couple months ago there was a post about the Top Three Things You'd Change About Indy.

There's a lot to love and hate. Hate is a strong word, though.

I LOVE that there are passionate people in this town who are willing to try to change the things that they hate here.

I HATE that there aren't more people here who are passionate about ANYTHING.

I hate that everyone hates the Pacers (and that I am so apathetic about them that I haven't even watched a game this year).

I love that I live in Indianapolis, after spending my childhood all over the place.

I hate that people living in this city send me jokes that talk about how terrible people of other nationalities are when they've likely never had any sort of conversation with someone of that particular nationality.

I love that Indianapolis has grown so much since the 1980s, and that we have a Super Bowl champion.

I hate that people think it's "just a movie," and want a movie to turn their brain off, not on.

I love that I am in the position to influence (if just a little) that previous statement.

I hate that there are people in this city who think that if you aren't pro-war, you're anti-American.

I love that my two kids are growing up in Indianapolis, because there's a lot to offer in the city.

I hate that not everyone realizes that "love it or leave it" is the single most un-American thing any American can say.

I love that indy.com is growing so rapidly.

I hate that I can't sell my house.

That is all. For now.

I hate how lazy/afraid of change so many people seem to be.

I hate how some consider anyone who wants to improve the environment a "dirty hippy" and instead of changing out their lightbulbs or recycling simply tell said hippy to take a shower. I hate how people argue that there is no global warming and keep going about their wasteful ways, when regardless if it exists or not we still have a responsibility to the environment and our future and there's no arguing that.

I hate how some people are so rude they'll cut in front of you at a starbucks drive-thru (ok, that one happened to me this morning! grrrr)

I LOVE Mass Ave.

I love to go see our local sporting events, including Pacers, Indians, Fever and of course the Colts!

I love the broadripple area and the canal downtown.

I LOVE the view of Indianapolis's skyline you get when you're flying home from a vacation.

i hate it that the colts lost last week.....{{sigh}}

i hate trying to go anyplace in castleton or anywhere around there.....

i love the east side, even though everyone else thinks it's the ghetto...IT'S NOT!!!(you couldn't pay me to leave irvington for any other place on any other side of town, either! ;o)

i hate how no matter where any crime happens in the city, the newscasters say it happened on the "near east side", or "south east side", or "north east" side, when it's clearly not. um, downtown is NOT the near east side, get a clue!!!

i hate how the city never seems to ever fill pot holes....

i love downtown indy, it is one of the most beautiful cities i have ever seen, IMO!especially at night!

I hate how cool our art/theatre scene really could be, but due to lack of funds we just settle for what we have. While we build huge stadiums to our sport teams. Don't get me wrong I love the Colts, and more people enjoy sports than arts or theatre here in Indy, but every now and then I would like a little somthing special! Make this a more rounded city!
