Question: What really popular classic rock songs are more annoying that Bob Seger's "Old Time Rock and Roll"? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsSVcRYh8dE

3 possible contenders:

  1. "Blister in the Sun" by the Violent Femmes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ra8VTlXVqUQ
  2. "ROCK in the USA" by John Mellencamp http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MzYkjvq-iLE
  3. "What I Like About You" by the Romantics http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KDI2YjZ7Ntk

I personally think Def Leppard's "Pour Some Sugar On Me" is the most annoying classic rock song ever. Ever notice how that song comes on in a bar or club and EVERY girl thinks it's their "anthem" haha

B.T.O. "Takin' Care Of Business" Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama" George Thorogood "Bad To The Bone" Steve Miller Band "The Joker" Village People "Y.M.C.A." B-52's "Love Shack"

I need to stop myself now. I'm obviously not a fan of novelty or repetition.

At the risk of sounding sacrilegious: The Beatles' "Hey Jude." While not strictly rock, I found Joan Osborne's "One of Us" so insidious, I caught myself humming it in the elevator one day.

"Shake Your Booty" by KC and the Sunshine Band

"Play That Funky Music (White Boy)" by Wild Cherry

"Jesse's Girl" by Rick Springfield

"We Got the Beat" by the Go-Gos (although I love "Our Lips Are Sealed")

"Legs" by ZZ Top

I can see that. But I still really like Hey Jude, anyway.

Grace Slick sold her soul when she did that one. Terrible, awful, horrible song!

I like "Honky Tonk Woman." It's cheesy, anymore, I know -- but still …

Anything where there's too much repetition in a song annoys the crap out of me. This means 99% of either Gwen Stefani or Fergie's stuff solo. That Feist song, "1-2-3-4" is ANOTHER example. What is this...Sesame Street? Right now, there's NOTHING and that's a big nothing more annoying than that Soldja Boy song apted named, "Soldja Boy." Who gives these turds recording contracts?
