Radiohead has confirmed the cities for the bands North American tour. Among them Indianapolis. Little is known beyond the confirmed cities, and no dates or venues have been released.
The bands latest release, In Rainbows, debuted at number one in North America last week and has been holding steady as itunes number two download since it's release on January first. The band also famously allowed its fans to decide what price they were willing to pay for this album three months before its physical release. Also complimenting the tour and album is an hour long film which can be found on www.current.com entitled Scotch Mist.
Whatever venue is chosen in Indianapolis it is likely to be within the city centre as radiohead has stated in prior releases about the upcoming tour. Radiohead has been a part of the friends of the earth campaign since 2005 and recently released a study about the carbon footprint of two types of tours, finding a smaller city centre tour to be preferable. Possible inner city venues are, the Maccalister performing arts center, the Murat egyptian room, and the White River Park amphitheatre. Expect more concrete details to emerge in the coming months.
some of the Scotch Mist works can be found by subscribing to the In Rainbows podcast via itunes. as far as their hopes to have their fans use public transit to get to and from shows, when they play indy they should play around 3:45 pm on the Mall in front of the downtown library. otherwise, no one will be able to catch the bus.
Looks like they kind of sold out on that idea, its now livenation from Verizon. Good luck with public transport out there other than hippie vans. At any rate I am happy that they are coming at all!
