Country music star Kenny Chesney will bring his summer tour to Lucas Oil Stadium. The Sept. 13 show is the first concert announced for the new NFL stadium.

Chesney performed at six NFL stadiums in 2007, and the Tennessee native played sold-out dates at Verizon Wireless Music Center in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

"Kenny always sells out in minutes in Indianapolis," said radio personality Vicki Murphy, who announced the Lucas Oil Stadium date on WFMS-FM (95.5) at midday today. "It makes sense that he will put on his huge show in our huge new stadium."

As the new home of the Indianapolis Colts, Lucas Oil Stadium is scheduled to open with the 2008 NFL season. When configured for football games, the building has a capacity of 63,000.

No mainstream concert has been presented at the RCA Dome -- now the former home of the Colts -- since boy band 'N Sync performed there in 2001.

Ticket prices and an on-sale date for Chesney's appearance at Lucas Oil Stadium have not been announced.

• Country musician Dierks Bentley will perform March 1 at the Murat Theatre, 502 N. New Jersey St. Tickets, priced at $39.75 and $34.75, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday.

• Guitarist Tim Reynolds will perform March 2 at the Music Mill, 3720 E. 82nd St. Tickets go on sale at noon Friday. Admission is $17, or $15 if tickets are purchased in advance.

• Pop duo Tegan and Sarah will perform May 8 at the Murat Egyptian Room, 502 N. New Jersey St. Tickets, priced at $20, go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.

• Rock band Tea Leaf Green will perform Feb. 15 at the Music Mill. Tickets, priced at $12, go on sale at noon Friday.
