Tony-nominated Sam Harris in Concert
Tony-nominated Sam Harris is coming to the Pike Performing Arts Center, 6701 Zionsville road, this Saturday, November 29 at 8 p.m.
Sam is a multi-million selling recording artist, with five solo albums to his credit. His will be a Christmas show at Pike like none other, because he doesn't just stand up and sing Christmas carols. In a theatrical style that has become his hallmark, Sam combines great showmanship, humor, soul and a legendary voice that Los Angeles Magazine claims "makes the angels cry tears of joy." Liza Minnelli calls Sam "the greatest entertainer of our time - bar none!" Sam will also be joined on the concert by members of the Indianapolis Children's Choir.
Most people remember Sam Harris from the premier season of "Star Search" with Ed McMahon - oversized tailcoat, hightop Converse sneakers and an extraordinary rendition of "Over the Rainbow."
After that auspicious start, Sam became a "theatre guy," appearing on Broadway in "Grease," Cy Coleman's musical, "The Life," (for which he received his Tony nomination) and most recently as Carmen Ghia in "The Producers." Sam toured nationally in "Joseph," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Hair," "Cabaret" and "Pippin."
Sam's TV credits include the series "The Class", along with talk show appearances on The Tonight Show, Oprah, Rosie O'Donnell, Dr. Phil and The View.
Tickets ($24 & $20) are available at the Pike PAC Box Office, 6701 Zionsville Road, by calling (317) 216-5455 or online at www.PikePAC.org.
