I'm no die hard Letterman fan, but I love the Great Moments in Presidential Speeches segment. Almost always gives me a hardy chuckle. What do you think of Dave being back on the air?

Letterman seems goofier and better now with lots of little segments that are funny and worth watching. It seems like his show is taking the lead from "The Daily Show" to be both somewhat political and certainly anti-Bush and pro-liberal/progressive.

I'll have to check it out. I haven't watched Letterman in years...the show seemed to get more conservative when he went to his earlier time slot, which made it less funny. Conan is the undisputed king of late night these days. I can't wait until he takes over for Leno.

I appreciate Conan's quick wit. He's weathering the writer's strike far better than Leno. I flip between Letterman and Leno sometimes. Every joke Leno has proffered since he's been back has fallen painfully flat.

I like Craig Ferguson on The Late Late Show -- much more appealing than Conan, plus he has that accent. And the show has a great theme song: "...you can always sleep through work tomorrow...." Listen to it here: http://www.cbs.com/latenight/latelate/

I too like Craig Ferguson. He's funnier than Letterman or Leno at times. But I definitely wouldn't put him above Conan. Conan's spontaneous behavior, quick wit (as ChoCho mentioned), consistently funny segments (In the yeaaaarr 2000) and hilarious guest characters (Triumph, anyone?) put him up top in my mind. He can take an interview with an awkward, humorless guest and turn it into something hilarious.

Everyone has a different sense of humor though, so I completely respect your opinion.

He's pretty smart too. Him and Jim Carrey are experts in quantum physics.

Anyone down for a light show?

I'd rather watch Daily Show/Colbert Report - or even Chelsea Lately - than any of the network talk shows.

Tracy Morgan made a memorable over-the-top visit to Letterman Friday night.

It took me back to the days of Crispin Glover.

The 10-minute clip is posted on YouTube:

I was thinking appealing as in visually appealing. Craig Ferguson is much cuter than Conan, who seems to be getting paler and paler as his hair keeps getting taller and taller these days.

Well I can't argue with that. He has pale force.
