Forgive me if this has already been posted, but I didn't see it ... From The Star (Traci Cumbay) this morning ...
When Scholars Inn, 725 Massachusetts Ave., becomes SI Restaurant and Lounge in February, it will introduce a Spanish-influenced bill of fare. But Chef Jake Brenchley, who takes over the kitchen after 1 1/2 years at Scholars Inn Bloomington, will change up the offerings each month. The restaurant shut down Jan. 1 for renovation. Manager Marla Taylor says diners can expect a new decor, red-hued in the lounge and with warm browns and rose shades in the restaurant. Mod lighting updates include red glass pillars and a lit-from-within marble table.
The Dr. Seuss-ical chairs that made the original decor so memorable are getting their own makeover. Private, "incredibly high-backed" booths and a community table "where guests can mingle" also are in the plans. The restaurant and lounge will have separate menus, with bar food making a leap toward the chic.
