I loved ATA and was sad to see them go. We loved the direct flight to Vegas. And we also used them to fly to Florida and they were happy to help us with our little hurricane situation haha. We were trying to get there, there was a hurricane, big mess. But we made it!
Last time we flew we used USAir and we didn't have any problems.
Ummm, ewwww, last time we went to Vegas we took Southwest, awful!!! I hate that they have first come first serve seating. It's okay if you are early and you can pick the best seat, but if you are late to your next flight, you are doomed!!!! And I'm extremely claustrophobic and it seemed like their planes are tighter than the rest. I was freaking out!
I don't fly much, once a year, so I'm not the best judge, but that was my two cents for all it was worth.
Unfortunately, I'm a cheap bastard so Southwest is about the only airline I ever fly. Despite the sometimes-hassels, $99 each way (to just about anywhere in the U.S., if you buy it enough ahead of time) is just too hard to pass up.
The new system where you get a specific place in line is pretty cool. But if you're late to your next flight, you are screwed, just as laura99in said. But still, $200 round trip, to California/D.C./New York/Etc. It's really worth whatever inconveninences come up. I would've paid AT LEAST two or three times that much to fly home this Christmas. So I'm not complaining too much about my 4 hour delay in Vegas. ;)
