Any response to Barack Obama's win in Iowa? Interesting that key supporters were young people and women. Whaddya think -- can he beat the Clinton machine to grab the Democratic nomination?
I hadn't been following the whole thing real close. They seem to be the popular ones. You keep hearing the same 5 or 6 names. I have listened to Hilliary speak on CSpan and have liked what she had to say. Obama was ok but I don't like people throwing the whole race card. Even though I haven't heard him throwing it, other people have been throwing it for him. Still unsure of who I was going to vote for or who I was even happy to see running, I took a couple quizzes. I'm not going to tell you my results but I'll have to say, the top three that popped up are three people I had never heard of. And the #1 choice was dead on in my views and I wish he was a "popular" one.

"Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois today urged hundreds of blacks not to vote along racial lines next week in Maryland's Senate race. Obama, the only black U.S. senator, came to the state to rally support for Democratic Rep. Benjamin L. Cardin, who is white. Cardin's Republican opponent, Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele, is the first black candidate ever elected statewide and has been courting black Democrats."--Associated Press, Nov. 3
"The nation's only black senator, Barack Obama, D-Ill., asked voters at two black churches and at a Nashville rally to elect [Harold] Ford, a Democrat who is trying to become the first black senator from the South in more than 100 years. 'I know that all of you are going to work the next couple of days to make sure it happens, because I'm feeling lonely in Washington,' Obama said at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church. 'I need my dear friend to join me.' "--Associated Press, Nov. 5
What did you like about what Clinton had to say?
People keep mentioning how young Barack is. I like it when a candidate who's older than me is considered young!
Does it matter? Neither will win the actual election.

I just liked the fact that she was standing up to Bush. She was knocking him down for the war, the spending, the fact that they didn't find weapons of mass destruction. I flipped by on several occasions and saw her doing this and had to smirk. She wasn't the only one though. Kennedy was doing the same thing. They were going for blood.
But I have looked at her views on certain things and I don't agree with her fully. And I'm not going to agree with someone completely on anything. Part of me would like to see a woman president and part of me wonders if she's the right one to do it. I'm conflicted still.
But I must say, my favorite quote is from Ted Turner:
"Men should be barred from public office for 100 years in every part of the world. It would be a much kinder, gentler, more intelligently run world. The men have had millions of years where we've been running things. We've screwed it up hopelessly. Let's give it to the women."
hahaha!

Maybe you can relate to this guy:

Knocking Bush for the war and WMDs, well everybody says that now. Everyboday can say it. She voted to go into Iraq, so who is she to talk. I think everybody voted for it besides 2 people. I don't see any cost savings from her, she does not seem like she is going to rip the troops out of Iraq either. Obama says he will and yet he was just talking about invading Pakistan last summer. They all talk a good game but it all looks like more of the same to me. More money in the hole for USA.
I agree a woman could do a better job, I don't agree it is Hillary. Hillary seems to want to make government a part of everyday life. If I got treated at my doctors the way I get treated at the DMV I would switch doctors. Too bad I can't switch the DMV provider.
I wish the women of the middle east would stand up to their men... that region would be way better off with women in charge.

This is the #1 issue among voters, after they are done seeing what is up with Britney.

Simmer down, now. It's a funny fake article.
Seriously: I think either one seems just as -- if not more -- likely to win a popular vote as Huckabee (WAY too far right) Romney (too flaky) or Giuliani (too socially liberal).
I think Fred Thompson or McCain will surprise people on the Rupublican side.

Hah. Nice video there. ONN is hilarious! The major news television stations have really gotten on my nerves in the past few months with respectable candidates being cut from debates.

Its all out of the same vat anyway... This country was bought and paid for a long time ago. Don't think any of the front runners are any different.
How much will Lilly (or big company X) be giving to the Republicans and Democrats this year? Why would a company give to both parties? How many ex-congress/senators are working for large paychecks with companies who lobbied them during their term?
Barack seems to be pegged as the hope-and-optimism candidate. People seem to be responding to that. Wonder how New Hampshire voters will react?
