If not for the guy on the left (Bryan Singer), the guy on the right (Jon Peters) may have made a Superman movie featuring a non-flying Superman in a black, capeless costume, with a gay robot sidekick and fighting a giant spider. And maybe cast the guy in the middle as Clark Kent.

I got to thinking about some of the biggest blunders, goofs, and bad ideas in movies.

Some never happen, like producer Jon Peters' insistence in the 1990s that the Superman movie he was producing (which eventually became "Superman Returns") featured a Superman that didn't fly, didn't wear his blue and red suit, have a gay robot sidekick and fight a giant spider at the end (or so director Kevin Smith, who was assigned to write a draft of the film, says; he noted that Jon Peters also produced "Wild, Wild West," in which the good guys fought a giant mechanical spider at the end).

Others do happen, though originally Greedo didn't shoot first at the beginning of "Star Wars", and Luke Skywalker nodded in reverence to an aged version of Anakin Skywalker at the end of "Return of the Jedi."

But movies like "Waterworld," "The Postman," "Gigli," "Godzilla" and "Hudson Hawk" were all made and made badly.

So what is the biggest boneheaded movie for you? Was it a choice a filmmaker made (or didn't make), or just that they made a certain film at all?
