The Star forums are asking for feedback on the new IND sculpture in the airport expansion.
As usual, the majority of posters use this announcement as an excuse to bitch about property taxes and the football stadium.
As I have begun to rely on this site to provide a more cultured, educated perspective on life, let me be the first to open discussion of the sculpture. Your thoughts?

It looks kinda hideous. Maybe it was just the picture, and I've only seen one, but I think they could have done better.
I guess it's better than the old one though.
I guess I can start by adding my own opinion. I like the artist's use of negative space and massive amounts of aeronautic-inspired materials. I hope people peer from their airplane windows to see this sculpture as they arrive in our fair city :)
