My weekly quick run through of half price books at 86th and Ditch Road was almost a bust but as I left a dude from my bookselling days of yore pointed out the BOOKS sign across the street. I didn't have much hope of finding it open much less filled with great treasures, but it was open and filled with great treasures. They have rare books, old lithographic posters, antique maps and other fascinating ephemera---I found a great art book I had to buy within 5 minutes of setting foot inside Jerry Musich Used and Fine Books. "From Picasso to Surrealism", published in 1950 by Albert Skira in Geneva Switzerland. Stated on the frontispiece: "A handsome book is not the work of a single person, but a product of the collective, well-directed efforts of all who have contributed to its success.". This statement could very well apply to many creative or social efforts in our lives. Jerry Musich's bookshop is located at 1319 W. 86th St. 46260. Contact them at 317-254-0690 jerrymusich@aol.com.
