After a buzzed night out I've always heard drink plenty of water and juice and eating something helps with a hangover(true enough in my case).Does anyone know of a better way to kill the hangover blues?

I've noticed that the intensity of my hangover is relative to the opacity of the liquor. Dark liquors leave me with a killer hangover, but I can drink gin & tonics all night and wake up feeling fine. I don't know the science behind it, but finding the drink that's friendly to your system might make the next morning a little better.

Water and honey. Before you go to bed, drink a full glass of water and squirt honey into your mouth straight from the little bear-shaped bottle. (Okay, so you could eat it by the spoonful too -- a couple tablespoons -- if you don't have the honey bear squirt bottle in the pantry.) They mitigate two of the main causes of a hangover: dehydration and low blood sugar.

I think it's important to eat a meal -- for me it's breakfast at the Peppy Grill -- and drink a lot of water before going to bed.

But it's good to drink water the whole time, not just right before bed. When I am smart enough to think about it, I try to drink a glass or bottle of water for every drink I have.

Yep, I find that the water thing is huge...But, big glasses of chocolate milk before going to bed and in the morning are musts for me...

From Wikipedia:

"No compelling evidence exists to suggest that any conventional or complementary intervention is effective for preventing or treating alcohol hangover. The most effective way to avoid the symptoms of alcohol induced hangover is to practise moderation."

Whatever, moderation is for sissies.

I did a Chaser test for a story in INtake's first bar guide. You know, the stuff that says it prevents hangovers. And it actually worked. A little. If you're going to go out, have some drinks and expect that you'll likely cop a buzz, it will help. If you're going to go out and drink like someone just ran over your puppy, it won't work. Promise. Oh, and don't drink and drive.

McDonalds French Fries and a GIANT Diet Coke. Works like a charm.

I'm a strong believer in the glass-of-water-before-bed theory. Most potential hangovers can be nipped in the bud with a good rehydration and sleep. However, on the few occasions that I've extended myself beyond prevention measures, nothing puts my stomach back on track like Steak 'n' Shake. A double steakburger and cheesy fries settles my stomach and clears my head. I recommend the location near 71st Street and I-465, they are always clean and courteous.

A colleague who is working on a story that involves this very question tells me that eating honey has been proven to ease the symptoms of a hangover.

Bananas - really!
Try a quick milkshake - banana, honey, peanut butter, etc. Has always helped to ease the head- and stomach-ache in my experience
