Okay, so every TV show this side of "BJ and the Bear" is being remade into (mostly bad) movies, and movie remakes are popping up all over the place. Most recently I saw that "Metropolis" (a landmark sci-fi film from the 1920s) was just optioned to be remade, and that John Singleton of all people might be making an "A-Team" movie.

My question is this: are there any "sacred cow" films or franchises that should never be remade, or are we going to see a "Seinfeld" movie in 20 years starring the 2027 equivalent of James Vander Beek?

Films that will never be remade:

Casablanca, Citizen Kane, Godfather -- Nobody wants to be compared to the best.

Bloodrayne, Norbit, etc. -- Nobody wants to follow in the footsteps of crap.

Intolerance -- Nobody has enough money to remake D.W. Griffiths' behemoth.

Personally, I would love to see a "BJ and the Bear" remake...
