My friend Abby and I were looking for a quiet evening to have a couple of drinks and catch up on things. Abby is from Chicago, and I wanted to show her some of our "fancier" drink spots.
We first stopped by the new Bugg's Temple, but they were closing for the night, which was ok...
I had just been there earlier in the week for some delicious Italian Margaritas.
We then made our way over to Scholars Inn.
I asked to sit down, but were told to make our way to the bar if we wanted drinks...
The place was too loud, we couldn't get to the bar or between all the people crammed in.
Totally lame and I felt really unwelcomed.
So guess where we ended up? The Chatham Tap!
I had yet to see the place for myself.
It is in the old LAMP facilIty next door to Scholars Inn.
Chatham Tap was quite a bit louder than we wanted, but there happened to be a game on we were attracted to.
Every table was packed and everyone seemed to be really enjoying themselves.
After sitting down a server brought us a menu.
We ordered some sort of appetizer.
It was kinda like a bruschetta, but with a very ham like item placed on top and lovely grape tomatoes.
Melt some cheese in there and it was perfect..
along with the Strongbows we ordered!
We freeking loved it, and I ll definately go back.

Recently went there for a mid-afternoon lunch ... was pleasantly surprised, as I live within steps of the place. Beautiful fixtures throughout ... food was ok; beer on draft was decent (full list here; service was excellent.
Former Taffy Bar Crawl here.
I walked in there for one second with a friend after an art opening. The Chatham was too loud and too dark. We left and never returned.
(SIGH) I miss the LAMP gallery and the after hours parties in the basement.
