In a strange land, I wandered as if in search of something. I came upon a forest and entered, having no reason to be afraid. The sun shone upon me and cast it's rays upon the forest floor. Shadows danced and flickered as time picked up pace and morning became afternoon. Suddenly, one shadow came from the east and rose above the rest and I saw a within it's wake a serpent, and it slipped across the leaves of the forest floor turning neither this way nor that way. Steadily straight was it's path and it made not a noise It's appearance was that of a string of polished stone, and in IT'S shadow was sickness and death. From the east came a small child, running and laughing. He drew close to the serpent, and it rose up and bit him on the heel. Immediately the heel became bruised and blackened, and the child was lifted up by his mother, who cried in fear of the death of her son. I grabbed a branch and tried lifting the serpent from the ground, but it was too heavy to move. As I lay the serpents belly to the floor, my heel stepped upon IT'S shadow. Immediately the boy jumped to his feet shouting, "I'm healed, I'm healed", and the mother cried and praised God, filled with joy. I turned to her and said, within this serpent is poison and death. Your son is not out of danger...." The dream ended here, as I was awakened by the sound of my alarm going off. Normally, I don't put much stock in the meaning of dreams, but this dream was starkly real in it's details, and was filled with symolism. First, the idea of a serpent(I never thought of it as a snake, but a SERPENT). Second, it came from the East, as did the small boy. Third of all, the idea of the serpent's shadow. (It comes to me that the Bible speaks of "a shadow of things to come". Fourth, a friend of mine, on this very same night, had an odd dream in which the "shadow" of a projector caused pain....a much different dream, but still seemingly rich in symbolism. If anyone has any ideas as to how to interpret this dream, let me know. I know that danger from the EAST is a definite undertone in this dream. I know that sometimes, a dream is just a dream, but not this time....I just know!

I feel you. That dream IS rich in symbolism, but I don't remember where I put my interpretation book. I know God speaks to us like that sometimes, I hope you will investigate the possible meaning and post here.
