The Cincinnati Ballet has dropped its originally scheduled Dec. 12 opening performance of "The Nutcracker" at Murat Centre, and will now open Dec. 13.
Barbara Hauser, Cincinnati Ballet's marketing director, said that the touring company decided it had not allowed enough time after the company's ongoing Detroit performances of "Nutcracker" for rehearsals at the Murat.
The production of Val Caniparoli's "Nutcracker" will involve 36 professional dancers from Cincinnati Ballet and about 80 students from the Russian Ballet Academy of Indiana.
Anyone who bought tickets for the Dec. 12 performance should call Ticketmaster at (317) 239-5151 for a refund or to transfer tickets to the other performances. Remaining shows will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 13 and 14, 2 and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 15 and 2 p.m. Dec. 16.
