I am a huge fan Michael Jackson's music. I can remember gathering around the tv as a child to watch Michael's movie/video (Thriller)and was totally blown away! He did it for me, creative, innovative, and fine(he has kind-of changed since the Thriller album but he was handsome to me then). Just want to know your thoughts.

Ms. Jones... I was a big Michael Jackson fan in th '70's and '80's. I dont remeber exactly, but I must have seen the Jacksons live three or four time. What I loved about them was that they were not only great musicians but that they were great entertainers as well. Of course Michael was the epicenter of it all. Their shows were filled with dancing, costume changes, grand stages and special effects. I have never seen Prince live so I can't really compare the two. He came along at a point in my life when concerts for me pretty much meant Ninja Turtles Love and Thomas the Tank Engine on Ice! (I'm the Huffman Triplet's dad form the Met) I do like his music. I was impressed with his Super Bowl performance.

That "Thriller" video was and probably still is one of the best videos ever. I knew all of the steps. I was a huge Michael Jackson fan in the 80s -- that was well before his complexion turned milky and his hair became long and relaxed. Anyway, I was one of the screaming fans in the audience during the Victory Tour. I also used to have a poster of Michael (that I got during one of my many visits to New Jersey during the summer) hanging on my bedroom wall. In this picture, Michael, who sported a jeri curl, had on a pair of jeans, a white T-shirt and a brown leather jacket. Hands down, it was the best pictures of Michael I had ever seen. But then it all went down hill from there with me and Michael. That's when Prince stepped into the picture and my room became a purple oasis. I'm sure I can still recite all of the dialogue from "Purple Rain."

Thriller... What!...still the best video/album to date, of ALL albums...I am looking for it on vinyl...I was a true MJ fan, I had the first REAL beat it jacket on the block, fresh from Chicago (saved a whole summer for it -cause I had to be fresh)! As I look at him now I can not deny his genius musically, I don't think anyone can, just wished someone would have told him how beautiful he was as a child then maybe would be seeing a different he now! Has anyone seen the Ebony Cover/Article?

That is why Hello Beautiful is so important....check "Twelve days till Christmas"

I will agree with Shelby and will maintain that "Thriller" is the greatest music video of all time, I don't care what MTV says with their silly little "Smells Like Teen Spirit" video.

Also, my mom still has my rather pristine vinyl copy of "Thriller."

I was a huge MJ fan in the day, and I had my knockoff Beat It jacket. It was still probably the single coolest piece of clothing I've ever owned, though I always wanted that one he wore in Thriller.

And Prince is as weird a cat as MJ is. Kevin Smith, the filmmaker who made movies like "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy" had some interesting things to say about him. It's available on a DVD he has called "An Evening With Kevin Smith." I'm sure clips of it are up on YouTube.

...as I look back on my life it will definately stand out as the "Thriller era", I was 12 when that album came out and people were going crazy. It seemed like everybody knew about it and had something to say about it. To this day, when my house needs a good scrubbin' there are only a few albums that can get the job done and Thriller might be number one!

PS...I'm excited to be on Indy.com

I like little Michael Jackson from the Jackson 5. That kid had a voice. But I prefer Prince over grown-up MJ. Prince can shred on a guitar. I'm not so sure that MJ can play any instrument. I also own vinyl copies of Thriller and Purple Rain.
