Okay I told I was going to get back with you regarding slam poetry…I have to be honest, I love slamming, the rhythm of it, it moves with a certain swagger, it has an heir that I simply love! I really enjoy all types of poetry, I have no particular favorite…I love words and poems move me. I could listen to Mari Evans any day of the week, read Nikki while sipping hot chai, or listen to Coltrane while reading Langston. I just love poetry! I Am Poetry! Question for you, who is favorite poet and what do your prefer listening to poetry, or reading poetry, or both?

When I'm bitter I like Bukowski. When I want to reattach myself to the aesthetics of words and beauty, Pablo Neruda.
I like reading poetry and listening. I think poetry changes when it is spoken. I have written some pieces that I didn't care for until I spoke them.
Nikki Giovanni, Sonya Sanchez and Langston Hughes do it for me. I love listening to poetry.
You introduced me to Charles Bukowski, I like what I have read thus far but I have to indulge...Maya, Mari, Nikki, Rita, and Sonia are definitely my top five(today)...Speaking of Sonia you know she was once married to Etheridge Knight have you ever read Etheridge? Roger Bonair-Agard? Amiri Baraka?
