Taking off on Dawn's popular post about what movies you've seen the most, I'd like to start a new thread restricting it to movies you've seen the most in theaters (not on video).

I saw each of the "Lord of the Rings" movies three times.

Silence of the Lambs I saw twice in one week.

Million Dollar Baby: 3 times.

All-time champ is "Amelie," which I watched in one city, then immediately drove 30 minutes to another city and watched it again. Long story...

I saw Spider-Man 2 in the theater/drive-in I think 4 or 5 times-I did a story rating drive-ins for INtake (my first-ever cover story) and it was the weekend SM2 started, so all the drive-ins were playing it. I'd already seen it for my review.

I saw "Titanic" I think 3 times, though the third time was a date, so I should get a Man Pass on that.

I saw Superman Returns 2 1/2 times in the theater-the third time I took Riley (my son) and he got bored and started yelling, so I left.

I saw Spider-Man 3 twice in one DAY(opening day)-I went to see it in IMAX in the morning, then took my wife and son to see it at the drive-in that night.

back in the early 80's, when eastgate mall was still open, we teenagers used to walk to the eastgate cinema to watch the late, late movies, on fridays and saturdays. the ONLY movies that were ever on were pink floyd THE WALL, and ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW. man, i bet i have seen those, just in the theater, hundreds of times!

Still...."American Graffiti"... My mom had a store at Lafayette Square in the mid 70's and we had become buddies with the theater managar, a guy named Ivan.. He would let us in anytime. American Graffiti pretty much the only movie I bothered to see more than once. I must have went seven or eight times. Other than Ron Howard and Bo Hopkins every other actor was pretty much unknown. I'm sure it's the first movie I ever saw Richard Dryfus, Suzanne Summers, Harrison Ford Mackenzie Phillips, Cindy Williams and Candy Clark appear in. And at the time I had no idea who George Lucus was. I just really loved the Hot Rods, music, and cruising.

I've seen all three Spider-Man films five times apiece in theaters. Yeah, I'm a bit of a fan boy. Heck, I take a vacation day when a new Spidey movie comes out so that I can see it twice in one day. Clearly I have issues.

I saw Titanic three times in theaters. Back in the day (when I was in Jr high), your coolness was based on how many times you've seen it and how hard you cried at the end. Oh and how shocked you were by Kate Winslet's boobs. ;)

I also saw the new Willy Wonka twice because I fell asleep the first time I went to see it. (not because of the movie... just because of other pre-movie decisions)

I took a vacation day (or a sick day maybe) to see Spidey 3.

I think it was probably Monsters Inc. Pretty sure I saw that at least three or four times in the theaters. Could've been "Finding Nemo" though. Saw that a bunch too.

Should you be admitting this in a public forum, Joe? Better hope your boss doesn't surf by and see this...

Or is it like the old Dilbert cartoon, "Sick days are like vacation days except with sound effects" -- i.e., calling the office and pretending to cough, etc.

Eh...I think they know by now. :)

They kind of treat vacation and sick days the same anyway. Use what you got is the philsophy.
