Getting baked
It's not even December yet, but after making six pies last week (two pumpkin, two pumpkin cheesecake and two turkey pot pies) I'm already getting the holiday baking itch.
Mom always made the peanut butter cookies with Hershey's kisses on top and baked sugar cookies for decorating with sprinkles and frosting.
I recently noticed in the Holidays in the Heartland exhibit here at the Indiana History Center that there's a section on holiday baking, which allows visitors to vote for their favorite holiday cookie, including chocolate chip, snickerdoodles and the two I've already mentioned.
