West Lafayette — Two astronauts will donate their personal papers to a Purdue University collection that already contains papers from astronaut Neil Armstrong.

Janice Voss and Roy Bridges Jr. will donate items including log books, notes, childhood photographs and journals to the Purdue Libraries’ Division of Archives and Special Collections. The archives also house papers from Armstrong, a Purdue alumnus.

Voss earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering science from Purdue in 1975 and became an astronaut in 1991. Bridges earned a master’s degree in astronautics from Purdue in 1966 and was a space shuttle pilot in 1985.

Purdue’s president says the papers will serve as an inspiring and historic record for future generations.
