Mayor Greg Ballard will reach out to Indianapolis’ younger residents during the first Mayor’s Night Out for youths.

The question-and-answer session will address the concerns of youths who live on the Westside, Far Westside and Southwestside, said John von Arx, public information officer for the city.

The event will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at Thatcher Park Family Center, 4649 W. Vermont St.

Ballard has held Mayor’s Night Out meetings for adults throughout Marion County to address residents’ concerns and talk about city happenings.

Today’s meeting gives youths the opportunity to give their opinions and ask questions.

WCTY (Channel 16), Indianapolis’ public, educational and governmental TV channel, will record the event.
