Damn I wanted to go see this movie, but I was busy last week and I called the Landmark theatre today to find out that the movie was pulled after one week because of poor attendance.

The film companies don't care about you anymore. Only about $$$$$$$. If a film doesn't perform $$ the $$ first weekend $$ it's history. None of the filmcos will open a picture and allow it to build an audience. Those days are long gone. Remember that movies are made on borrowed money and they have huge, huge interest payments to make. On the cinema owners side it's much the same. We have mortgage payments and other bills too. If the film won't support us we have no choice but to move on. Some really wonderful films have disappeared much too quickly out of this necessity. If you want to see them, get off your duff and get out there to the local flick house! Yes, I know you are busy with your hectic life, but on average a film will play 21 times its first week. Can't find one showing to go to?

I could not believe this . . . I called the number listed (last week) to check group rates. I wanted to take my High School class (We are study Africa, Asia, and Latin America and I really wanted my students to see the film). On today I received a call from Warner Bros. saying, "the film is not showing in my area!" "When did this happen?", I responded!

Are there any suggestions on other films that may be beneficial?

The Armenian Genocide, the first genocide of the 20th Century, occurred when two million Armenians living in Turkey were eliminated from their historic homeland through forced deportations and massacres.

For three thousand years, a thriving Armenian community had existed inside the vast region of the Middle East bordered by the Black, Mediterranean and Caspian Seas. The area, known as Asia Minor, stands at the crossroads of three continents; Europe, Asia and Africa. Great powers rose and fell over the many centuries and the Armenian homeland was at various times ruled by Persians, Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Arabs and Mongols.

The movie is called screamers, the members of the band"system of a down" are grandkids of surviours
