Man I sure do...the Castleton Arts Theater( as I called it the West Side Key)was great..had lots of good memories there!
I really liked the Encore(more before the first time it shut down..never got that same buzz back after it re-opend) and I do miss it and I can't tell you how much I miss the Hollywood Bar@Filmworks....it's like downtown lost something..I can't really explain..retorts anyone?
I didn't go there very often, but I definitely miss Hollywood Bar & Filmworks now that they're gone. Do you remember The Irving on the east side? I remember seeing "Clerks" there as a teenager, as well as many old school flicks with my grandma. Indy needs more independent movie theaters like that. I get so tired of chains.
well the Key(Key Cinemas) is really the only true Arts Theater left in Indianapolis(don't start with me on the Landmark)but yes I rememeber the Irving well and Had a lot of good time there..also the Emerson and the Arlington(with my grandparents)
The Arlington as much as anywhere probably was the birthplace of my love of movies. My dad took me there to see "D.A.R.Y.L." and "Brewster's Millions" among others.
I really miss castleton arts cinema. The lounge was cozy. good times.
Hollywood Bar & Filmworks was great (good memories there over buckets o' beer and greasy food) ... wish I had taken more advantage of it.
I really miss Hollywood Bar & Filmworks. Great prices, food & booze, and such a cool old theater. Regular movie tickets are so expensive, and there's always some kid throwing popcorn or crinkling their soda bottle. I'd much rather wait a month to see the film, lounge back in those comfy chairs, and spend my money on drinks and snacks. This Halloween was so boring without going to see Rocky Horror too... :( sad sad sad sad.
I miss Hollywood Bar & Filmworks BIG TIME. They made it so much easier to afford dinner, a movie AND a babysitter!! Seriously...almost cried when they closed.
You guys should just go to that one in the Fashion Mall. I hear you can drink there.
You guys should just go to that one in the Fashion Mall. I hear you ...
Been there, love it...but, it can't replace Hollywood Bar & Filmworks. Has anyone ever been to Cinema Grill? Is it comparable?
very nice..they do a reat job of showing the local stuff too!
I cried the day they shut the doors on Hollywood Bar & Filmworks. Had annual passes there as long as I can remember... It's just not the same without them
I used to go downtown all the time(that would kinda start off the night,r.i.p Hollywood) now I hardly ever go downtown
My wife and I always loved going to Castleton Arts. When we saw PI there, the guy taking tickets said, "Look, we just want to warn you that the second half looks a little blurry. We're not sure if it's a defect in the print or if the director meant to have it like that." I still smile at the slacker honesty inherent in that statement. We haven't gotten that kind of vibe off of a local movie theater since.
Lots of memories for me, too, at Hollywood Bar & Filmworks. I was absolutely heart-broken when they closed. Such a fun/unique environment to take out of town family and friends.
