I thought I had an ice scraper. I could've sworn it was in the trunk somewhere. But alas, it wasn't. And the sub-freezing temperatures made having one necessary.

So while my car was warming up, defroster running full blast, I dug through my trunk to see what else I could use. A coworker told me she used a broken CD all last winter. And when I found my old license plate decided to give it a try.

Lo and behold, it was PERFECT!

So what items have YOU used to scrape the frost of your windows?

I've actually used my keys to scrape out a hole to see through. It works, but it's like mowing your lawn with a weed whacker.

I hate to scrape, which is why I made sure to buy a house with a garage. Street parking is for BARBARIANS!
