I stopped in at Goose the Market, at 25th and Delaware, yesterday. Great stuff, including ice cream from H2O Sushi. I just got a sandwich to go (the Goose, with prosciutto, basil and fresh mozz, $6.95; others sounded good too) but I had to try the avocado and lime ice cream, which, though it may sound odd, was nevertheless delicious; now I'll have to stop in for more.

The shop also has great-looking meats, including a wild boar sausage, lamb brats, aged tenderloin and various other cuts of beef, chickens, fresh seafood, Hudson Valley foie gras, breads from Scholar's Inn and an assortment of fresh veggies. And coffees.

Avocado ice cream? Seriously?

Sounds like a place I'll hit, though ... always looking for alternatives, since it seems like my Downtown O'Malia's has stopped carrying a few things (like I couldn't find Scholar's Inn bread anymore ... although I might just have missed it with the full remodeling they've done).

For those who want more info, looks like the place has a Web site: http://www.goosethemarket.com/

I JUST drove by the Goose yesterday on the way home. Hadn't noticed it before. Will have to stop by!
