This Friday, November 16th in Fountain Square, the Sixth Annual Tonic Ball will once again take its place at the forefront of Events That Rock Indy and Also Happen to Raise Mucho Dinero For a Good Cause. More than 30 bands specializing in a variety of genres will celebrate the songs of 2 musical artists at 2 venues. Genuine Clashmania will not bite the dust at Radio Radio (1119 E. Bring your rock wardrobe to work, change and cut out early in order to check out the Tonic Gallery at the Wheeler Arts Community (1035 Sanders St.---near Bud's supermarket). Dozens of local visual artists do their part to support the cause. The art is displayed from 5:30 to 7:30. Entry is free---get there early and put in a bid on your favorite works. I am so excited for this! I've never been, but heard lots of good things!!!
Oh, it's a good, good night...Jennie Devoe nearly blew the house down (actually, the theatre) last year with her rendition of Prince's Purple Rain. A $20 ticket is absolutely worth while. And, for our hard-earned money, we also get to help out that cool Nora woman, who runs Second Helpings and writes the music column for the Broad Ripple Gazette.
TG and TB are righteous events. And remember Tonic Gallery is free -- though if you DO want to spend money, a lot of great art by excellent local artists (Kyle Ragsdale, David Kleeman, Emma Overman, to name just a very few) will be up for auction. Prices start at $100 and top out at $400.
Good times for a good cause...it's going to be a blast as always! I'm as excited as a kid at Christmas blush
