Conner Prairie (13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers) offers a Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., one full of traditional eats including the "old-fashioned green bean casserole" that practically built Thanksgiving tradition and a Grand Marnier chocolate mousse that I wish were part of my own family gathering. It's $24.95 for adults and $13 for ages 4 to 12, free for children 3 and younger, and you need a reservation. Call (317) 776-6006 for one.
Ted's Montana Grill (5910 W. 86th St. and 14490 Clay Terrace Blvd. in Carmel) is taking the traditional route, as well, when it opens for the first time this Thanksgiving. Stop in from noon to 8 p.m. for a $30 turkey dinner, and for anyone feeling anti-bird, the restaurant will offer cedar plank salmon or prime rib. Reservations accepted.
McCormick & Schmick's (110 N. Illinois St.) opens from noon to 9 p.m. with a special holiday menu packed with traditional faves. It also offers its full menu, in case you prefer oysters and filet mignon or crab cakes and rainbow trout. Reservations are recommended for large parties.
Capital Grille (40 W. Washington) is open all day and serving turkey and trimmings (including clam chowder) for $40, or order from the restaurant's full dinner menu from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. Reservations accepted.
