Once again, voters turned out to vote in a typically reactionary way to their current displeasures. The city of Indianapolis, tired of Mayor Peterson's 'more taxation' method of quick fix, has now chosen for their new mayor a Republican who has no experience in running a city government. Who convinced the voters that Republicans have a tradition of 1) listening to constituents, 2) caring about the middle class (beyond the middle class being a cash cow), and lastly 3) putting a hold on pork barrel spending?
I don't live in Indianapolis. I won't have to personally live under the conditions that voters have gotten up and drug themselves to the polls for.
No, I live in Carmel - the place where we are girding ourselves for the white flight that is inevitable. Do we have crime in Carmel? Why, yes we do! Behind closed doors where it belongs. (OK, I'm being sarcastic here).
I voted this past week for the future of Carmel. Not in a knee jerk reactionary manner though. It didn't matter who I voted for as I probably will not be here to see the mess 'my' candidate will make of things in the future.
However, I did vote. Regardless of how long I am going to live in the armpit of America, I still live here NOW and fully intend to exercise that one right that HomeLand Security Idiots haven't yet figured out how to take away from us (if it were up to Ann Coulter, people like me wouldn't have the right to vote based on gender).
Take this Ann Coulter. I am woman. I vote.
