I haven't been to 8Seconds Saloon, but am seriously considering a trip there for the Cracker show I've been jonzing for ever since I heard Euro-Trash Girl and learned that the band likes to hang out in California's high desert. Anyone else?

I remember seeing Cracker at Bogart's on the Keronsene Hat tour back in 1993 or so -- a band no one had ever heard of at the time opened for them: Counting Crows.

Then I saw them a little later (or was it a little earlier? Can't remember.) at Deer Creek on a three-band-bill with the Gin Blossoms and the Spin Doctors.

David Lowery has been to Indy a lot over the years -- saw him with Camper Van Beethoven at Birdy's during their reunion tour three or so years ago. Always puts on a good show, whichever band he's with.

I'm not into country bars, but for what it is, 8 Seconds Saloon is a nice place. Plenty of room, and hosts some surprising shows from time to time. I know the Roots played there last year, and they've hosted other rap acts too -- Run-DMC once, I think. Weird.

Fitting venue for a band named "Cracker". Scoot your boots up on yonder to the Westside, hear!

I remember buying Kerosene Hat and August and Everything After in the same early-90s music shopping trip. When I plopped down my cash, I'd only heard "Low" and "Mr. Jones."

...Imagine the glee that was unleashed when I heard the other stuff...Both are still well-used staples of my music collection.

Thanks for the nostalgia!

I didn't make it. Sigh. I've got to figure out how NOT to work on Fridays, so I won't get tired...Lame. I know.
