Which 10 movies must everyone see in their lifetime? Which movies are your favorite, or do you consider the most important, influential, or fun that just screams out to be seen?
You got 10, and you got paragraphs now, so let's see 'em. Feel free to consult IMDB or your preferred movie database.
Here's my list, in no particular order:
Your turn. Discuss.
In no particular order, and really, I'm not sure 10 is enough...
1) Robocop 2) Rosemary's Baby 3) A Clockwork Orange 4) Spirited Away 5) Rushmore 6) Audition 7) Jaws (I agree with you Joe -- it's like a John Updike novel with a shark in it) 8) Delicatessen 9) Muriel's Wedding 10) Battle Royale
No Order here either... and I could go on but wont.
I love a lot of those choices Joe...I'm not necessarily pulling for all these, but I'd add to the conversation (and I'm going primarily generational and I could go for days...)
The Goonies, Varsity Blues (c'mon!), Spiderman, The Matrix (only the first one), Office Space, Forrest Gump, Being John Malkovich, Ghostbusters, E.T., Top Gun, Gladiator, American Beauty, Willy Wonka, Scarface, Groundhog Day, Princess Bride, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Good Fellas, Braveheart, Kentucky Fried Movie, Platoon, Raising Arizona, Cast Away, Breaking Away, Hot Fuzz, Batman, Batman Begins, Labyrinth, Glory, Big Fish, Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, A Christmas Story, What's Eating Gilbert Grape, Dumb & Dumber, The Natural, Good Morning Vietnam, Blues Brothers, Shaun Of The Dead, The Lion King, Shrek, The Terminator, Full Metal Jacket, Lethal Weapon, Toy Story, LA Confidential, Good Will Hunting, The Truman Show, Tombstone, Unforgiven, The Shawshank Redemption, The Untouchables, The Jungle Book, Die Hard, Weird Science, Back To The Future, Finding Nemo, Can't Buy Me Love, Karate Kid, Animal House, Lord Of The Rings (1-3), Memento, Sin City, The Bourne Ultimatum, Million Dollar Baby, Kill Bill 1, Donnie Darko, The Incredibles, V For Vendetta, Little Miss Sunshine, Snatch, Field Of Dreams, Raiders Of The Lost Ark (all), 12 Angry Men, Silence Of The Lambs, American History X, Reservoir Dogs, The Sandlot, The Big Lebowski
Thank God you decided to buck the trend and list more than 10 Dodge! I would hate to have actually come up with a list that had at least one original, not-yet-listed movie on it.
I can't even begin. There are so many! Here's a few...And they are in no order...
1.Singin' In The Rain! (Good Lord, if you haven't seen that yet...)
2.Lilies Of The Field (Sydney Poitier is amazing as usual)
3.Little Miss Sunshine, (Steve Carell can do anything)
4.Christmas Story (classic)
5.Poltergiest (the cheeseness gets you)
6.anything Monty Phython (British humor, comeon, men in dresses isn't funny?)
7.Ferris Bueller's Day Off (I forgive you Matthew, for marring Sarah Jessica Parker....SO ABONOXIOUS!)
8.E.T. (yet another classic)
9.Funny Face or Breakfast At Tiffany's (Audrey, my cat, was named after Audrey Hepburn
10.Harry Potter 1-5 (gotta love the books at least)
I know those are some of MANY fantastic movies, and I think Dodge took the rest...
If you decide to watch any of these, Lilies Of The Field would be it. It's in black & white though, but it's a beautiful movie.
