Vintage levi cords, armygreen Saucony shoes with orange flare and a "BAD" brand belt bought at thriftshop for $5 with original $55 price tag still attached. Paisley shirt vintage Towncraft Penn-Prest Tapered JC Penney brand (circa 1974??). And what are you apparelling today?
I am wearing a white shirt that's shot through with silver strands (hook and eye closure); my stovepipe trousers that look kind of like Momus' pants; my high-heeled suede boots, and a hot-pink scarf with gold highlights.
They look like cowboy boots on the bottom, and riding boots on the top. Got them on sale about three years ago, and they immediately became a wardrobe staple. Couldn't get through the fall and winter without 'em ~ thank the fashion fairy for the shoe guy, who does the fixing when they wear thin.
Who is your favorite shoe guy? I know this merits a thread all its own, but I just bought some Frye boots, and I'll likely need to have them resoled come next fall.

Jerry from Jerry's Leather Shop and Shoe Hospital on Fourth Street in Marion, Ind. That probably doesn't help you much.
But, cool Jerry and his dad have been fixing my shoes since, well, I was small and wearing those little white ones. I give my beaten-down soles to my lovely mother, who drops them off. Then, like magic a week later, they are saved!
In all honesty, I have NEVER had a mishap and the fixing is cheap, cheap. So, if you've got a pair that need lots of TLC, it might be worth the hour's drive North.
I suppose you could do a mail thing, maybe ~ might want to give him a call at 765.664.5475.
I'm not wearing any of them today (at least, not yet), but my trusty G.I. Joe, Cobra Kai and "I'd Rather Be Fighting The Man" T-shirts say all there is to say about who I am.
I'm wearing the outfit I was buried in years ago, until a freak nuclear accident transformed me into an undead warrior of hell, who's sole mission is to torment the living. How's that for a run-on off-topic comment?
Fine... sigh. I'm wearing a Hugo Boss striped shirt and a black cashmere sweater that I got on sale. Happy now?
I'm wearing a black T-shirt supporting Paper Route, one of my favorite undiscovered bands of the moment. My L.A. Denim jeans fit like a glove, are faded perfectly, have interesting details such as designs on the pockets and crooked belt loops, and get lots of compliments and inquiries. My shoes are classic sneakers by Penguin. They look like they used to be green but have subsequently been painted white, and the white paint has started to crack, letting the green show thru. They look so old that I had to tell my mother that I bought them this way so she wouldn't buy me new shoes. And finally, my black corduroy Triple 5 Soul destroyed blazer that I went to visit 4 times before breaking down and buying it. And I like them all because like fabric softener.
Due to an array of paisley in the shirt area.
I lurve paisley. So does Rod.
Tell me more.
My sweater is warm. It's green and vintage looking.

Ooh la la! You sure do have the best shoes, John.
And green, vintage looking sweaters rule.

SWEET! I want to do a story on clothing repair at some point -- I'll definitely mention that.
