RE: Laughing with the Dalai Lama
According to Bloomingpedia (how cute is that?): The Snow Lion serves Tibetan and Indian cuisine, and is owned and operated by Jingme Norbu, the nephew of the Dalai Lama of Tibet. (which is why I asked)
Snow Lion is known for their rich and exotic dishes, as well as for holding their recipes highly secret. Although not really authentic Tibetan - the dishes are lacking in Yak meat and milk - the dishes are exotic and Americanized at the same time. The Jasha Thupka, chicken with egg noodles and vegetables, may be the most popular dish; ask for Chef's Challenge spicy if you feel brave.
Although very small, the Snow Lion is probably the most famous restaurant in Bloomington, and once was featured as the answer to a Jeopardy question.
mmmmm...thoughts of their specialty salad dressing and hot sauce are making me hungry already...
