I'm a huge Dunkin' Donuts fan. Mostly of their coffee, but every once in awhile I enjoy a breakfast sandwich or a donut. I was pretty excited to hear that they were putting a few D&D's in the city. Actually more that a few, something like 80, right? I pretty much had gotten used to only being able to enjoy D&D when I was in Chicago or when someone brougt it home for us. We went in to Carmel this morning to get breakfast and were surprised to see that the line is still out the door. Noone seemed to mind, all were in good spirits. The good news though, is that there is another D&D opening up at 86th and Ditch on Wednesday.
You can now get DD coffee beans and grounds in stores (Target, Walgreens, etc.).
IBJ said something about a DD taking over where the Panda Express is at Penn and Washington. I hope this happens, I want a breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Also, it being 24hrs would be off the hook.
Somebody at my office brought in Dunkin Donuts a couple weeks ago...
I remember DD being here decades ago... the Washington and Emerson and on Pendleton Pike locations... and liking the donuts then, but I can't say that I was all that impressed. Long's has them beat by a long shot, but they're alright. I don't know about the coffee though... or the breakfast sandwiches..
I'm not much of a coffee drinker myself but my dad has been since he was a teenager. Growing up I remember Dunkin Donuts being one of his favorite places to go. I wouldn't mind giving it a shot myself sometime. When we celebrated the opening of Indy.com here at The Star, we had over 100 dozen DD that morning... who can top that?
mmmm... I agree that Long's donuts are way better than DD. I wish I still lived on the west side so I was at least a little close to the place.
There's a Long's on the southeast side... Southport and Madison I think...
My mom is fanatic about DD's coffee, but I was not impressed with their donut holes or the breakfast sandwich I got a couple weeks ago when I stopped by the one in Carmel. I remember their donuts being better when I was a kid. However, I could definitely go for some Long's right now....whose buying?

A DD downtown would be awesome...Has anyone else heard the rumor that the coffee being served at the Indy locations is NOT the same as other markets? That could be trouble.
Haven't heard the rumor on the coffee - I did find out they discontinued the cinnamon apple doughnuts since they were last in Indy. With Dunkin Donuts back, maybe Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips will come back? (no connection between DD and Arthur Treacher's - just eateries from my childhood that left Indy)
I noticed that the cost of a bag of Starbuck's dropped at Target, apparently due to the competition of DD.
I grew up on DD (Munchkins are the perfect answer to indecision!) My dad is addicted to their coffee and even as of last weekend, he brings the family donuts on Saturday morning before we wake up. He's been doing it for 20+ years! So excited to have one opening downtown near work 86th and Ditch is a bit out of the way. Now I don't have to buy a 60 pack on my way back form Chicago!!
