Masterpiece in a Day Winners Displayed
If you didn't get a chance to enjoy the creative activity during this year's Masterpiece in a Day event, there will be an opportunity to check out the winning works of visual and written artworks during this week's First Friday at the Murphy Arts Center. Jay Parnell was the Best of Show winner in the art competition as more than 250 artists and writers participated in Masterpiece in a Day throughout Fountain Square on September. 27th. Other art winners: Street Art: Mike Altman Traditional: Orlando Burgos Off the Wall (sculpture): Chad M.Campbell On the Wall (hanging 2-D work): Quincy Owens. Writing winners: Prose: 1. Merelaine Hasket, 2. Cindy Long, 3.Katie Bussell. Poetry: 1. Brian Kern, 2. Mary Sexson, 3.Lylanne Musselman. The Street Art winner and the entries in the Street Art category will be on display in Gnosis and the four other winning art pieces will be on display in Alchemy. Big Car will display the writing winners outside of their gallery on the second floor of the Murphy.
