Favorite Era In American History
I've always been partial to the Jazz Age, the 1920s. The literature, music, style and . . . labor agitation are all very attractive to me. And who wouldn't want to live in an era named by F. Scott Fitzgerald? Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be reliving the 1930s instead.
So, if you could pick any time in American history in which to live, which would it be?
I'd have to say the 50's, you know right after the war. Spirits were high, everybody had been rationing for so long they swung completely the other direction and starting enjoying life. To be a teenager in the 50's and early 60's would have been grande.

I kind of like the 40's because it showed everyone making sacrifices together and looking out for one another. You couldn't be greedy and there was a sense of patriotism. Everyone looked out for the other guy. The Fifties were great too, but there is something special about the 40's, they supported the war, they did everything for the GIs and it was a sense that permeated the culture one of stick-together-ness
Yeah, I see your point, plus can you imagine the frickin party that happened on V-E day? or V-J day? that would have been unbelievable.
I'd have to agree with you on the Jazz Age. The music was amazing, Hollywood was in its glitz and glammer heyday, and I've always been kind of partial to the hats and garter belts of the 1920s...

I'm in complete agreement on the garter belts. And how.
Honestly, I have always wished I'd been a flapper in the '20s or a lounge singer in the '50s.
