Last Friday wrapped up White River State Park's first summer for the Family Arts Series. The Park succeeded in creating an outdoor performance series dedicated to family audiences. The Series provided residents of central Indiana a informal and unique gathering place for the community. We were able to coordinate and collaborate with art and cultural groups to provide FREE performances in Indiana's only urban state park, located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis.

This year's lineup included...

  • Indianapolis Children's Choir,
  • Bill Harley & the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra,
  • Orquesta Bravo,
  • Dance Kaleidoscope,
  • Shakespeare on the Canal (presented by Heartland Actors' Repertory Theater),
  • Asante Children's Theatre
  • Indianapolis Opera
  • The Quebe Sisters Band

As we begin to review this summer's Family Arts Series and plan for the next, we would like to ask for your feedback.

If you came to one of the eight performances this summer, let us know what you liked and didn't like about the show.

If you didn't make it to a show, who would you like to see perform in the 2009 Family Arts Series?

Our goal is to increase community participation in the arts and offer opportunities to experience performance art at no cost.

Help us make next year's Family Arts Series even better. See you in the Park!
