Celebrity Gossip
I like to hear what is going on with my favorite celebrities just as much as the next guy, but I think the media can go too far. I like hearing when one of them has a child, but bidding wars over the first baby pictures is ridiculous. The media crosses the line when they enter into their private lives. It is nice to bring celebrities "down to our level" by knowing that they have pitfalls as we do, but do we need to know about all of those pitfalls and every detail about them? It is nice when a celebrity couple announces their intentions, but I don't think we should spread rumors and assume the state of their togetherness without such an announcement.
This week I have heard radio DJ's and internet sites boasting of their knowledge of the "Brangelina" situation. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are people and deserve their privacy. If they had in fact split and wanted the world to know, they would have told us. We wouldn't have to read the claims the tabloids spit out just to make profit.
My point is that although I am interested in celebrity news, gossip is something that annoys me.
