Indianapolis, IN - September 8, 2008- 'Best of Indy' salsa band Orquesta Bravo! has again been invited to participate in Fiesta Indianapolis! On Saturday, September 20, 2008, beginning at 7:00 p.m., on the grounds of the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis, Orquesta Bravo! will perform its hot and sultry sounds as the representative of Latin music in Indianapolis and its growing Hispanic community. Admission is free.

Orquesta Bravo! is honored to be part of this annual event which takes place during the National Hispanic Heritage Month and is one of La Plaza's main events. Since 1980, Fiesta has been the premiere Latino cultural celebration in Indiana. Fiesta celebrates, educates, and shares the Latino culture through diverse mediums including art, music, dance, food, and cultural activities. The event is held the third Saturday of September at the American Legion Mall in downtown Indianapolis and attracts approximately 35,000 people. La Plaza is the resulting organization after three longstanding Indianapolis organizations - Hispanic Center, Hispanic Education Center, and Fiesta Indianapolis - merged as one. The combined strengths and resources of La Plaza better serve the needs and tremendous growth of Indianapolis' Hispanic/Latino community. Together, La Plaza focuses on making Indianapolis a remarkable place to live and thrive by responding to the basic needs of the Hispanic/Latino community through health and social services, developing productive citizens with economic development and its youth/adult education programs, and embracing community inclusiveness through its arts and culture celebrations.

Orquesta Bravo! was first invited to Fiesta Indianapolis in 2005, its first year of existence, when it was the local headliner group. Since then, Orquesta Bravo! has matured and achieved higher musical stature. Orquesta Bravo! continues with its successful musical voyage. 2007 was an exciting musical year for Orquesta Bravo! and it is continuing with that momentum and energy to embark into what it has called its 'Great in '08' season. Orquesta Bravo! will continue to strive to be the best Latin musical representative of Indiana. Under the leadership of Stacie Kidwell (Sandoval on stage), the group will continue to solidify their music, expand their repertoire and intensify their entertainment. As always, the group is comprised of the best and most professional musicians Indiana has to offer. Ms. Kidwell is the owner of the local real estate firm, Home Free Realty, LLC. Ms. Kidwell also had a hand in creating the Stacie Sandoval Tropical Jazztet, a smaller group performing jazz standards and boleros and featuring local icon Ken Fary on the piano, and, more recently, the Latin Pop trio, ConPaz.
