Pretty pricey

If your pockets are as deep as your thirst, salud!

This $1,000 martini probably is the most expensive cosmo this city has ever seen, yet surprisingly, it doesn't stand alone on its pricey cocktail pedestal.

You can buy the Luxury Martini at the Capital Grille, 40 W. Washington St., starting Nov. 24, just in time for the holiday shopping season, so start saving your money now.

OK, so it's not just a cosmopolitan. It's a cosmo made with Belvedere Cytrus vodka ..... with a white topaz and diamond "caviar" rope bracelet (designed by Steven Lagos) as its garnish.

And it's for charity.

All proceeds go to the Share Our Strength organization, which is dedicated to making sure children have nutritious food (for more info, head to www.strength.org).

So if you've got the money to burn, you'll be helping children, while getting a tasty drink and a fish-egg-looking bracelet to take home.

The Luxury Martini inspired us to inquire about other pricey cocktails around town. This time, the proceeds only go toward your refined palate and your inebriation.

Mo's A Place For Steaks

47 S. Pennsylvania St.

$500 for a Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac Manhattan. The imbiber who buys the highest number of these drinks gets the chance to name this drink. For now, it's called the "Ozzie Manhattan," but that's only until someone comes in and buys eight drinks.

"We usually sell quite a few during the big races," bar manager Chris Kirksey said, "but we don't get people ordering eight of them every night."

And if you finish off the bottle, you get to keep it.

Nicky Blaine's

20 N. Meridian St.

$125 for one ounce of Remy Martin Louis XIII cognac.

$20 for "The Highbury," a Jean Marc XO vodka martini or "The Tolstoy," a Stoli Elit vodka martini. Both come with your choice of jalapeño-, garlic- or blue cheese-stuffed olives.

MacNivens Restaurant

339 Massachusetts Ave.

$25 for a 2-ounce pour of Johnnie Walker Blue Label scotch whisky.

Blu Martini

4705 E. 96th St.

$15 for the "Golddigger," a martini made from Johnnie Walker Gold Label and Godiva white and dark chocolate liqeurs.
