Small Change & Low Finance

Yesterday walking across a busy street I almost tripped over a woman in business attire bending over to pick up a penny. Now, I might pick up a dime off the sidewalk if there's no one around to see me but I stopped picking up pennies when I graduated high school. Anyone else have rules for picking up coins?

If the penny is heads up, then I will consider it for good luck purposes. Other than that I will usually only pick it up if it is a nickel or more.

I'll pick up anything I see. Often this includes non-monetary items as well.

I eschew pennies and pick up everything else.
