Taffy on the Town: UFC 88 Part One
What's up, Naptown, Taffy's flown the coop down Atlanta way for Ultimate Fighting Championship 88. I intended to deliver the scoop from the weigh-ins at Phillips Arena but had other business to attend to. Atlanta is jumping with fighters, MMA industry bigwigs, and fans right now, and I spend Friday evening at the Leopard Lounge in downtown ATL hobnobbing with a coterie of UFC celebrities including former light heavyweight champ Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, lightweight contender Kenny Florian, Tim Boetsch, Rory Singer, Rameau Sokoudjou, Cole Miller, UFC matchmaker Joe Silva, UFC octagon announcer Bruce Buffer, UFC ring girl Arianny Celeste, and UFC/HDNet Fights/DREAM veteran Jason "Mayhem" Miller.
Rampage, Florian, and Miller were swarmed by fans looking for pictures but the crowd was relatively restrained. Things got too crazy for old man Taffy by 1 a.m. so I headed back to the hotel to gather my wits for Saturday's festivities. Pictures to come, my kiddies.
