The 35th annual Indianapolis Greek Festival is this Friday and Saturday, September 5th and 6th at 40th and Pennsylvania in the Meridian Kessler area. Musical entertainment provided by the Greek Company Orchestra. Exhibitions of artful dancing provided by the Holy Trinity Hellenic Dance Troupes. And you can count on food, plenty of delicious nutritious edible masterpieces. And if that doesn't whet your appetites for a celebration of all things Greek, I suggest reading "The Colossus of Maroussi", a magnificent celebration of the history of Greece and marvelous Grecians by Henry Miller (probably the best "travel" book I've ever read). Miller fled to Greece from France to escape the Nazi invasion. Reading his adventures traveling the land with larger-than-life poets and gourmands Seferiades and Katsimbalas will send you posthaste to Expedia to book a flight to Greece. But in the meantime, go the Indy Greek Fest this weekend for more inspiration. www.indygreekfest.org
