Here's a little missive I found on-line somewhere: "Since opening in 1957, the legendary Troubadour club in West Hollywood has helped launch some of contemporary music's most talented performers. Greats such as Elton John, James Taylor and Tom Waits performed there early in their careers, and it continues to be a destination for cutting-edge acts from around the world.
The Troubadour also remains a popular venue among serious music fans who enjoy listening to live music in an intimate and historically-rich setting." Nice.
So that's the way Indy's own Troubadour Songwriter Showcase got its name from host and native Californian, Tim Brickley. Kind of a tribute thing...
I'm not sure who tonight's featured act is. But who cares? Several wines will be half-priced at D'vine, Allisonville and 82nd. Music starts at 8:30 p.m.
...And, heck, it's kinda rainy outside, so --if you've got a spot of imagination -- you can take a magic carpet ride to sunny Calif.!
Hey Lila,
Sounds like fun tonight
Who do I contact to get into the showcase?
Thanks
Hey Lila, Sounds like fun tonight Who do I contact to get into the showcase? ...
...Oh, it is fun. If you have a Myspace site, send a message to Tim at www.myspace.com/timbrickleyandthebleedinghearts. Or -- better yet -- drop by D'vine one Wednesday, catch the show and have a chat in person.
