State Quarters
I was sorting through my substantial personal wealth this morning, when I noticed a quarter with a skull on it. "What the turd?" I thought. Then I saw that it was the Montana state quarter. Interesting choice, Montana.
I haven't paid much attention to these quarters since they started coming out. Does anyone have any favorites? Any that you think are particularly weird?

I have kind of been collecting them since they began so I kind of like them...it took me a while to score an Indiana one, but I think there are some that are more popular than others based on where people live. Now, I am not a coin collector and I am not trying to stray off topic here, but do you ever wonder about these coins they pitch on TV? I bring this up because when this state quarter thing started, I saw a commercial for the initial set of five, painted no less, on sale for (say it with me now) $19.95. So, coins that are only worth $1.25, someone is nutty enough to pay $20-plus because of shipping and handling. But what about some of the suspicious nature of a few others I have seen...like the new "legal tender" World Trade Center coin. They call it Liberian tender...who in Liberia walks around spending money with a coin that depicts a US building? I have seen Princess Diana coins that are apparently only usable in a third-world nation...now if England isn't going to give her a coin, why on Earth would anyone else? I am a little confused by the coin game, but I think the state quarters are kind of neat.

I think they sell those quarters for dollars by taking them fresh from the mint and into the display thingies, so that they are in pristine condition. For people who make the arbitrary decision to value such things highly, it apparently means a lot.

Doesn't the New Hampshire quarter have that rock face one? The one with the face in the rock? I thought I heard that particular landmark has since been destroyed (it was victim to a rock slide, I believe).
Anyway, on the quarter it looks like a vague blob of nothing.
