Born just hours apart in the same Indianapolis hospital, Ryan Brown and Kris Potts seemed destine to create music together. The two met in the summer of 1988 and quickly became friends. Soon they would discover their musical talents in their respective instruments. Brown took up the guitar and Potts on electric bass. The two jammed together and started creating the foundation of what would eventually become Ladymoon. Unfortunately Potts moved several times while in grade school. In the meantime they performed in their separate groups. Potts was in a punk band in Florida called Right Wing Antics and Brown started the short lived Silent Insanity which had a 90's grunge sound. In high school he was introduced to Cameron Runyan who impressed Brown with his drum set playing. The two started a band and decided to call themselves Ladymoon adding Justin Goldstein on bass guitar and Tim Gray on rhythm. The original line up performed regularly until the summer of 1999 when Runyan left town to pursue other endeavourers. Fortunately Kris Potts was back in town so Brown regrouped with Potts and the two assumed the name Pake on Elf Grass and the Ajax Crew. Rehearsing and performing with several different drummers Brown finally met Mark McKowen at Ball State University sometime in 2000. McKowen was a great match to Brown and Potts given his diverse musical capabilities. The three created several new songs and recorded a full length LP in 2001 under the name Ladymoon. The band was on its way to becoming one of the most creative and influential groups to come out of the Midwest jam band scene. They performed at many venues throughout the region sharing their eclectic sound and crazy on stage performances. Yet as in all great tragedies Ladymoon met its end in 2003. The band members became involved in other projects and went their separate ways. A few years passed with Potts performing with Little Sky Giant and The Midwest Rhythm Exchange, Brown and McKowen performed in a pop rock band called Austin Bridges. The three matured musically and professionally but they were missing performing in Ladymoon. They had to get back together. Now Ladymoon is back and better than ever! They recently completed a five song demo and picked keyboardist and singer Nick Jaenicke. Jaenicke has performed all over the country with the Indiana University group Straight No Chaser and his college band Mitchell Street. Ladymoon plans on performing at numerous venues and completing a new record by the end of 2008.
