D'Vine's and Hit City's new Troubadour songwriter series continues tonight with two singer/songwriter showcase veterans: Bloomington's Stella & Jane (Suzette Weakley and Bobbi Humphries)...I hear they sound something like Lucinda Williams and a folksie Janis Joplin.
Cool host Tim Brickley has this to say about this week's guests: "These two talented and lovely people who run the Monday Night Bloomington Songwriter's Showcase, write very cool songs, and (according to a post on a Folk Music site) are bringing some kind of wild-ass percussion dude! Should be a blast."
Showtime is 8:30 p.m. at D'Vine, 82nd and Allisonville next to Houseworks.
You don't have to pay to get in, AND D'Vine offers some of its bottles for half off on Wednesdays (find groovy and sweet manager Barry and get a recommendation -- he's quite good at that).
