Everyone else sleeps more than I do. It's not that I lead a busier life than anyone else or suffer from insomnia or have neighbors in death metal bands. It's just that I've never been able to sleep for more than four hours at a time. I take naps later in the day for an hour or two, but I can't sleep in more than four hour chunks at any one time. This means I spend a great deal of my life waiting for other people to wake up.

I also sleep on my side and must hug something, be it a pillow or a person, in order to slide off to Slumberville. And I prefer the room to be as cold as Dick Cheney's heart. And . . . oh Lord . . . if there's a gentle rain falling as well, I am not opposed.

So, how do you people sleep? What do you sleep on (Futon here)? How long do you sleep? Do you snore so loudly that your neighbors seek shelter from what they believe to be an oncoming tornado? Tell me, tell me, tell me.

side sleeper here, either side will work with a pillow between my boney knees. Have to have a fan on to make it cold, and to have the extra noise. I can't sleep if the room is completely silent.

I also like some low level of noise. I'm a very light sleeper, so if I don't drift off to some sort of constant hum that covers other tiny noises, I'm screwed.

Must be pitch dark ... if there's any kind of light, it'll wake me.

I can't stand sleeping in a hot room. Waking up all sweaty is the least pleasant physical sensation this side of actual pain.

I'm a bad sleeper in general. I'm actually more tired when I wake up than when I went to bed.

i like to fall alseep in a cool room - i agree waking up sweaty makes me feel guh-ROSS as well- on my side or stomach; often to the blue glow of a tv...sleep timers are amazing. one little quirk though - all doors must be shut. don't ask me why. i'm guessing it's due to monsters:)
