Spent the weekend on Lake Grandview, down by Columbus. All the usual stuff, waterskiing, tubing, swimming, etc.
One thing that turned out to be new however, was the addition of a new watercraft I had never seen before. THE CRAIGCAT!
See the picture for details, but basically this thing is a motor, two seats and two pontoon/surfboard floats. Man is it fun!
There were alot of skiers and tubers on the water this weekend, and Grandview isn't the biggest lake I have ever been on. In fact it is only about 350 acres, so the water was getting pretty churned up.
We took the CRAIGCAT out and immediately realized that this ride was going to be not only exciting, but wet! We roared around the lake only inches from the water, jumping over swells and wakes with ease. So much ease in fact that I let my 13 year old son take the controls for awhile.
Anothe rthing that makes the CRAIGCAT fun is economy. We rode the thing all weekend on LESS than 5 gallons of gas! Now that is alot of bang for your buck!
I am looking into getting one of these. It has to be easy to trailer, so we could take it anywhere. It is certainly easy to drive, so the whole family can enjoy it. Unfortunately, my initial web search for pricing has proven to be a little ouchy. Nearly $10,000 for a base model. So the used search begins.................
I doesn't look there is much storage space for a cooler or anything. Is this more along the lines of a boat alternative or a wave runner alternative?

I would have to say it is more along the lines of a wave runner. However, it has a full electrical system with tilt controls for the motor and a stereo. Also, there are two samll dry storage areas and a couple of cup holders. I think this is a good alternative when the kids are little too small for a wave runner.
